Oh My Goodness. This past weekend is surely one that I will remember for a long time. On Friday, I was checking my facebook and twitter account and saw that the opening band for the Jonas Brothers, Honor Society was in Portland on the 26th...a day earlier than originally expected. And that they were having a pre-party in town. So I was able to go to the party and met the four guys that make up the band...Michael Bruno, Alexander Noyes, Jason Rosen, and Andrew Lee. Words can't describe how much fun that was. Took lots of pictures/videos...I ran out of batteries for the camera while talking to Michael so as soon as I was done I ran and bought new ones.

Then on the 27th (yesterday), was the Jonas Brothers concert and my friend had won tickets from Honor Society and seeing as her ticket was a better seat then the ones that she won, she gave me one of them. So I got an upgrade from section 205 to section 122. A much better seat. Jonas Brothers rocked the house but my fave part would have to be meeting the guys again. Alright...my top five fave part. Can't really decide what was my ALL-TIME fave part of the night, but meeting Michael, Alex, Jason, and Andrew again was a blast...I could go on forever about yesterday, but I will save it all for another post.

This a picture of me holding my cousin Brittney's newborn baby girl Sabrina Marie. She was born on Saturday October 11, 2008. She was 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 inches. Mom and baby went home on Wednesday and I was there from Wednesday night to last night.

job possibility

Those who I have talked with know that I am a member of a babysitting site called care.com that helps put parents in search of babysitters/nannies together with those of us that provide that service. Well, in the last week, I have had a mom request access to my background check that the site had done, and I approved the request. And just tonight, I got a message from her telling me about her "job offer" and asked me to reply if I was interested. Well, duh!! I was interested. It is for a work-at-home mom who has a 1 month old baby boy. And the duties would be to just watch him during the day. No housekeeping or anything like that. Just watch the baby. It would be a steady 4 to 8 hours a day Monday thru Friday. So I am really looking forward to where this opportunity takes me.

I have a new favorite music group. It is along the same lines as bands I've liked in the past and everyone knows what kind of music I listen to. It is a group of 3 brothers and I just love their music. Well, don't want to go on and on and on and on, what broken record, about them. Sometimes I wonder what my purpose in life is. For some people their purpose is their families, their jobs, or other things like that. Right now in my life I feel like I am floundering in a sea of emptiness. My job starting giving me less and less hours at work so much so that it was almost a total waste of my time going there to work for 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours just to take 2 hours to get home on the bus. So I gave them my notice saying that it wasn't working for me there anymore and that my mental health needed to be looked after right now. So I am now currently unemployed. Except for the times that I get an emergency phone call from friends that need me to babysit for them while they run to the doctor with contractions. My friend has 2 1/2 weeks left in her pregnancy so when she called her doctor about what was going on, they told her to come on in and get things checked out. Well, she ended up not having her baby today, but I told her that if she needed me to watch her 3 other children while she is in the hospital, then I am more then willing to drop everything and be there for her.

I have also been feeling down because this past week was the four year anniversary of my father's death and funeral. Even though I tell people that that date does not bother me, seeing as the last time I saw him was the June before he died, that is not the whole truth. Because that day still means that I have lost the ability to be able to pick up the phone and say, "Daddy, I love you." and "Daddy I had a bad day can I have a hug?" Just little things like that still to this day sneak up on me and sucker punch me in the gut. I am not sure that he would know quite how to get me out of my doldrums, but I do know that he would try and make me laugh about things that are going on. He would try to find something worth laughing about in almost any situation that life threw his way.
